Yes, a deviation from the norm for me. I've done pony art before, but it's been a very, very long time.

Ok, so as some people might know, tomorrow is my little girl Aislyn's 4th birthday. Hooray! She's super excited about her presents and strawberry cake and grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch and spaghetti for supper. She more or less has her whole day planned out. And she's only 4.

She asked us for a Rainbow Dash pony for her birthday. Naturally, she's getting it. I got an idea to make her a t-shirt as well. She has one My Little Pony shirt with her favorite pony, Minty, on it. At least, Minty is one of her favorites.

I asked her today who her favorite was and she replied, naturally enough, with Rainbow Dash (shows on the left side). I asked who her other favorite was and she thought about it before saying Pinkie Pie (shown on the right). So I found a suitable coloring book image and altered it to fit those two ponies.

RD's hair is a bitch. I much prefer to do rainbow hair the way I did Sailoretamin's hair a while back, so much less stressful. Never mind that blasted tail... PP was so much easier given that her hair is all one color as is her tail.

PP's symbol was less easy. I couldn't find a clear picture of it and wasn't about to go digging through my boxes for the PP toy I have (yes, I have one somewhere, so sue me), so I did the best I could. I think those are supposed to be balloons.

RD's was much easier. Simple little rainbow.

Those flowers and leaves...Normally, when I draw something, I use my tablet with the free form pen tool. For those, I wasn't feeling like painstakingly sketching out those blasted flowers. So I took my pen tool and drew them out free hand. If they look a little shaky, that's why. The darkest shading on the big light pink ones was done using the free form pen tool, I'll admit, but everything else was utterly free hand. I've never really done flowers or leaves before, so this is a first for me. I'm satisfied by how they look.

Awesome! It looks really good, i'm sure she'll love it. ^____^

Me here thinking you've always been doing it free hand ...>.<
No, I pretty much always use my free form pen. My hands aren't very steady, so I get these wiggly icky lines if I do too much free hand. Some stuff I do that way, like hair highlights and my shading, but my lines are pretty much always free form pen.

If you have the actual ponies and you don't want them I'd be interested in buying them off you if they're not too much :)

I do plan on giving most of them to my daughter in a few years.
